As you mentioned, this issue is Guest OS specific and did not reproduce on Mac OSX physical. There is one more way to check whether or not it is VMware Fusion IOFramebuffer driver issue or GOS issue itself through removing guest IOFreambuffer driver with one a command within Mac OS X guest:
"sudo rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/VMwareGfx.kext"
After rebooting the OS X guest, you should verify the IOFramebuffer is not installed or running by using the ioreg command. You can do this by running a command shell and typing "ioreg -l | grep -i ioframe" The VMWare IOFramebuffer driver should not be in the list. At this point, try to reproduce the problem.
If it reproduces then the problem is not related to the IOFramebuffer driver and instead this is a problem with Apple's common graphics software.
if Firefox is using OpenGL to render frames, VMware's Mac OS/X guest drivers do not support OpenGL at this time.
