I am not too worried about my VM's being noticed as VM's, more that it might be noticed that these VM's are related to each other as they are being governed by the same hypervisor. I have reasonably covered the ip side of things by giving each machine it's own public ip and domain name. I want each VM, as far as is possible to appear unrelated to the other VM's.
Do VM's cloned from one another have certain characteristics that are the same? For instance, I would have used the same product key to license Win7 and this would have been cloned 10 times. Will all of these machines display the same Win7 serial code to anyone who goes looking for it? Also, you mention the MAC address - I'm not too worried that it looks like a MAC address from a VM, but would all of the VM's have the same MAC address?
